1. Portland Pediatric Nutrition
We love the family-friendly, Portland Pediatric Nutriton’s Blog. This blog managed by registered dietitian, Katharine Jeffcoat. Portland Pediatric Nutrition posts relevant articles for health-conscious mothers on topics such as sugar consumption and Omega-3’s for kids with ADHD. Katharine provides quick tips on how to foster healthy eating habits as well as providing kid-friendly recipes.
2. Free + Abel
Free + Abel has a blog managed by registered dietitian Liz Freeman Abel. Her private practice goes beyond just nutrition to incorporate yoga. Liz’s blog includes recipe suggestions as well as uplifting ways to rethink nutrition.
3. The Real Life RD
The Real Life RD is one cute blog! This blog, run by “real life RD” (& soon to be NP!) Robyn Coale, shares more than just nutrition facts, but how this dietitian lives a healthy lifestyle. Robyn posts regularly on topics like metabolism and body image. Robyn uniquely also includes a feature on her blog where she shares real life stories from her readers. Every story is so personal and incredibly inspirational.
4. Emily Fonnesbeck, RD
Emily Fonnesbeck, RD is a fantastic blog for both dietitians and health-aware readers alike. Emily crafts articles that are body positive and motivational – such as her most recent “10 Things I want My Kids to Know.” Emily also looks into health news, sharing observations on nutrition today such as recent changes in food labels.
5. Zen & Spice
Our fifth find is Zen & Spice, a nutritional gem for any foodie! Zen & Spice is managed by registered dietitian, Emily Hein. Zen & Spice shares uniquely crafted recipes with nutrition in mind. Emily’s recipe tab makes it easy to find a recipe for exactly what you’re looking for. She even has a section full of vegetarian options!
6. The Well Necessities
The Well Necessities is another great recipe cache! It is managed by registered dietitian, Lisa Hayim. Lisa shares trendy (& healthy) new recipes – everything from smoothie bowls to watermelon pizza! All of her recipes are plant-based and incredibly, never require more than 5 ingredients. Lisa also writes a section on common nutrition myths where she delves into hot health topics and shares her expertise.
